    „Appassionata“ heißt „Leidenschaftliche“ und daran hielt sich Mursky. Er setzte ganz auf Ausdruck. Höchst expressiv und eindringlich gestaltete er den ersten Satz, überdeutlich war alles da: donnernde Akkordausbrüche in der rechten Hand, pochende Achtel in der linken, markante Klopfmotive, wie man sie aus der Fünften Sinfonie kennt, ein lyrisches zweites Thema, das aus dem ersten abgeleitet ist. Mursky verweilte im ersten Satz etwas lange bei einzelnen Details.Aus einer anderen Welt kommt der langsame zweite Satz: Der Schriftsteller Romain Rolland sprach von einem „Lichtblick zwischen zwei Finsternissen“, der „Windstille zwischen zwei Taifunen“. Erlesen, mit schwebendem Klang entwirft der Pianist die zweite Variation. Man sollte dieser Ruhe allerdings nicht trauen: Mit markanten Akzenten stört Mursky die Idylle und bereitet so den Ausbruch des letzten Satzes vor. Ungebändigt, dramatisch erklingt das Finale, geradezu obsessiv wiederholt der Pianist die niederstürzenden Sechzehntelfiguren… – Kreiszeitung Böblingen (Konzertkritik).
